Christine Horne is Interim Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology and Professor in the Department of Sociology. She received a JD from Columbia Law School and practiced law for several years before returning to graduate school and earning a PhD in sociology from the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on norms and informal social control. She develops general theoretical understanding of the emergence, enforcement, and application of norms and applies theoretical insights to diverse substantive domains.
