In Memory of Deputy Justin DeRosier<\/span><\/h1>\n <\/p>\n
Justin DeRosier graduated from WSU <\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>spring 2012 <\/span>with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in political science<\/span>. A <\/span>Cowlitz County deputy sheriff, <\/span>DeRosier, 29, died on Saturday, April 13, 2019, after he was shot while responding to a report of a disabled vehicle. According to <\/span>The Spokesman-Review<\/em>, “the fatal shooting is believed to be the first death for an officer in the line of duty in the history of the Cowlitz County Sheriff\u2019s Office.”<\/span><\/p>\nThe Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology remembers Deputy DeRosier with appreciation for all of his service. As a student, he was excited to start a career in law enforcement and couldn’t see himself doing anything else. Our hearts go out to all who loved him!
