Diego Moreno Memorial Scholarship provides student support<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

After the devastating loss of their son Diego, Lizzie and Randy Lee wanted to honor his memory in a meaningful way, so they created a fund through which his legacy would be passed on.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Diego Moreno was a shining light, with an empathetic presence and a radiating smile. He had an extreme ability to sense and understand the feelings of others without needing deeper explanations. If one was happy, Diego felt that happiness as his own; if one was troubled, he would go out of his way to help. He went above and beyond to make people feel seen, appreciated, valued, and loved.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diego attended Washington State University, and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in digital technology and culture and a minor in criminal justice and criminology. He was drawn to law enforcement a few years after his graduation, and became a Police Officer in Kent, Washington, in 2010. Sadly, he was killed in the line of duty on July 22, 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his eight years as a police officer, Diego served with compassion and chose assignments that put him in a position to care for and help the members of his community. Through his work, he touched countless lives and earned many awards, the majority were life-saving awards. Above all, Diego was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and grandson. Lizzie and Randy established the Diego Moreno Memorial Scholarship to honor Diego’s life and his legacy of love and service. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
