Wiley Research Exposition, which is specifically designated as a place for graduate and professional students to showcase their research. The event is split into two presentation options, including a poster presentation and an oral presentation. Both of these have strict rubric instructions, are graded by interdisciplinary judges on manner of presentation, and provide a cash prize to the top two presentations in every subfield. With seven different subfields (Agriculture & Natural Sciences, Engineering & Physical Sciences, Medical & Life Sciences, Administrative & Information Sciences, Liberal Arts & Humanities, Visual Arts & Design, and Social Sciences), this year yielded the largest number of applicants ever. In the Social Sciences subfield alone, there were 20 oral presentations that were accepted. Voted as the top presenter of the Social Sciences category for the 2014 Wiley Exposition was one of our own DCJC PhD Candidates, Christopher Campbell. Presenting preliminary results from his dissertation, Chris relayed his findings on the impact of returning parolees to confinement based on noncriminal technical violations. His accomplishments along with the other subfield winners will be highlighted in a special GPSA awards ceremony in the upcoming weeks (date still to be determined). Congratulations, Chris!

For more details about the Wiley Exposition and to read abstracts of the presentations, please visit: http://studentinvolvement.orgsync.com/org/gpsa/Services_Wiley.

And the winners are… Dr. Otwin Marenin (left) and Michael Campagna (right). Beginning this year, the ACJS International Section conferred a Graduate Student Paper Award.
