Profile
Faith E. Lutze, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University. Her current research interests include police use of IPV lethality risk assessments, drug treatment courts, correctional industries, prison environments, and conducting outcome evaluations. Dr. Lutze is the author of the book, The Professional Lives of Community Corrections Officers: The Invisible Side of Reentry (2014) and has published the results of her research in numerous peer-reviewed journals related to criminal justice, rehabilitation and reentry, and gender-based violence. She teaches courses on gender and justice, violence toward women, institutional and community corrections, and is a certified instructor for the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program. Dr. Lutze is a 2016 graduate of the Washington State Department of Correction’s Correctional Worker Core training academy. As president of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (2019) she advanced a framework steeped in justice, human rights, and activism to encourage others to take responsibility for justice through research, education, policymaking, and practice.
