We are pleased to announce that Guangzhen Wu (’18), PhD, received the Junior Scholar Award from the American Sociological Association Section on Drugs and Society in 2023. 

Guangzhen’s work has significantly impacted our understanding of cannabis legalization. As an alumnus, Guangzhen continues to inspire and mentor students, and we are grateful for his contributions to our community. We congratulate him on this well-deserved honor and look forward to seeing the continued positive impact of his work.

Featured Presentation: “Treatment Court Data: What, Why, and How”

We are proud to highlight the recent accomplishments of Mikala Meize-Bowers (’21). Mikala was a featured presenter at the RISE24 conference held in Anaheim, California. Her engaging session, titled “Treatment Court Data: What, Why, and How,” examined critical data points that are essential for enhancing court practices within therapeutic court programs.

After graduating in 2021, Mikala embarked on her professional journey at the Washington State Center for Court Research. In her role as senior research associate, she contributes significantly to the Behavioral Health Unit for the state of Washington.
