In Memory of Deputy Justin DeRosier
Justin DeRosier graduated from WSU in spring 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in political science. A Cowlitz County deputy sheriff, DeRosier, 29, died on Saturday, April 13, 2019, after he was shot while responding to a report of a disabled vehicle. According to The Spokesman-Review, “the fatal shooting is believed to be the first death for an officer in the line of duty in the history of the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office.”
The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology remembers Deputy DeRosier with appreciation for all of his service. As a student, he was excited to start a career in law enforcement and couldn’t see himself doing anything else. Our hearts go out to all who loved him!
